Banks, finance companies, accountancy firms and management consultancies have been discovering the merits of London’s Congress Centre in increasing numbers in recent years and have been booking the central London Grade II-listed modernist venue for meetings, conferences and special events.
One of the venue’s big plus points is its highly accessible central location moments from Tottenham Court Road Underground station and a mere six minutes by tube from Bank via the Central Line. From Tottenham Court Road and nearby Goodge Street and Holborn stations, the venue is also on a direct tube line to six mainline railway stations – Charing Cross, Euston, King’s Cross, Liverpool Street, St Pancras and Waterloo – as well as being on multiple bus routes, making it extremely convenient for delegates to get to.
Barclays has been a regular client at the venue over the last few years, and PwC and Coutts have also held large events at the architecturally renowned mid-century venue. In June, a major player in the banking world will also be returning to Congress Centre for a one-day conference for 160 delegates, followed by a drinks reception.
According to Ruby Chagger, Conference & Sales Manager at the venue, “We have held numerous events for clients in the banking and finance sectors recently. They seem to like the fact that Congress Hall has a ready-to-use contemporary stage set with state-of-the-art AV equipment already in place, so they can literally plug and play. They also seem to particularly like the fact that some of our rooms have beautiful original wood panelling which adds a certain gravitas to their events. Crucially, our day delegate rates are far more competitive than rival venues in the Square Mile, so their event budgets go a lot further at Congress Centre, without compromising on quality.”
The venue offers a choice of 16 air conditioned flexible conference, meeting and events spaces, most with natural light. To find out more, visit us on the MIA stand (J200) at The Meetings Show or call 020 7467 1318.
