Anne Bocock of Pb Projects was among the first event organisers to request Congress Centre’s new street food menu for an event she organised for UKSUG on 25th & 26th June.
According to Anne, “I had known about Congress Centre for many years and fortunately, I was finally able to book an event there. The street food menu immediately appealed as I recently organised an event at another venue with hot and cold boxed food and it worked incredibly well, so I had high hopes.”
The two-day event, which took place in Congress Hall with breakout sessions in the Invision Suites, was attended by 100 people. It was quite technical and the street food was perfect for adding informality and facilitating networking and discussion amongst delegates. On the first day of the event, the food followed an American theme with burgers, mac ‘n’ cheese, salads, spicy Mexican dishes and waffles, whilst on day two delegates enjoyed Asian and North African street food including teriyaki chicken donburi, tofu & shitake mushroom fried rice and filled pitta pockets, among other dishes.
“Congress Centre is in an ideal location minute from Tottenham Court Road making it very easy for delegates to get to. The street food was both fun and extremely tasty and the whole event worked really well. I look forward to returning to the venue again soon,” says Anne.
